RUSAL has announced an ambitious pledge to plant over one million trees in Russia as part of its climate strategy aimed at reducing the Company’s carbon footprint. The initiative represents Russia’s largest ever forest restoration project. Hydro’s aluminium plant in Karmøy, Norway suffered from a power failure, starting 03:50 CET on April 1. Power supply has been reestablished, but at a lower amperage. The incident has caused no personnel injuries. Hydro Karmøy has an annual production of around 270,000 tonnes primary aluminium, whereof 75,000 tonnes is the Karmøy technology pilot.
